Corp Michael Coker
Spec. 4 Michael Coker enlisted in October of 1999 in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Field Artillery Cannoneer with the 1st Battalion 10th Marines. During his 4 year tenure in the military, Mr. Coker served nine months in Iraq supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning to the United States he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C., until his honorable discharge in October 2003. For his service, he received the Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Rifle Qualification Badge and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Meda.
Mr. Coker moved to Ocala, Fla., with wife Melissa and their two children: Dashawn, age 12, and Mikaila, age 3. He is currently working for the U.S. Postal Service and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management at Santa Fe College. In addition, he recently incorporated his own business, Mike Coker Consulting and Services LLC. Mr. Coker is a member of the Florida Veterans Foundation Board of Directors and the Santa Fe College Collegiate Veterans Society. He is also a lifetime member of the following organizations: Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and AMVETS.
