Corporal-Noel “Spat” Roy

Spat Roy was inducted into the Army in April of 1951 at Fort. Devens, MA.  He received his basic training at Fort Hood, TX. and was assigned to the 634th Infantry Battalion., 1st Armored Division He attended Armored School at Fort Benning, GA.  and additional training at Fort Knox, KY.  Spat was deployed out of Fort Lawson- Seattle, WA in June of 1952 on board the U.S.S. Buckner  that was bound for Tokyo.  He arrived in the Korean theatre and served with ground forces in Inchon. 

His serviced ended in March of 1953.  Spat came home to to Waterville where he and his wife raised their daughter.  He worked in sales at Levine’s Men’s Clothing Store until retirement.

Each person who serves our great country is a hero in our eyes.
