Joseph Roy began his military tour in December of 1942.  He was assigned to the 178th Signal Surf Warning Platoon as a radar operator.  He performed these duties in Casablanca, Sardinia, Corsica, Naples and Rome.  For his service, Joseph received European/African/Middle Eastern Service Medals and a Good Conduct Medal.  He was discharged in October of 1945.  Joseph came home to Waterville where he and his wife raised 7 children.  He worked for and retired from the Wyndotte Woolen Mill.  Joe continued to serve his local community after his tour of duty.

Each person who serves our great country is a hero in our eyes.
